Ford Sollers has exported a total number of 1,125 Russian production cars in 2018, which has indicated an 11% year-on-year growth. The relevant statement has been made to Autostat by the press office of Ford Sollers. The company has added that the entire range of Russian production Ford automobiles are currently being exported to Armenia and Belarus. The most amount of exports were made to Belarus last year. Ford Transit and the special versions based on the model have become export leaders – 34% of the total figure, followed by Ford Focus – 33%, and Ford Kuga – 19%.
As one may remember, Ford Sollers joint venture manufactures 7 localised models in Russia, which are adapted to the conditions of the country in full-cycle technology, as well as the 1.6 liter Duratec petrol engines. Ford Focus and Ford Mondeo models are manufactured in Vsevolozhsk plant, Ford Explorer, Ford Kuga and Ford Transit in Alabuga and Ford Fiesta and Ford EcoSport in Naberezhnye Chelny. The total investment in the projects of Ford Sollers in Russia amounts to approximately 1.5 billion US dollars.
