The construction of Haval car factory in Tula region has been completed. The production complex is formed of stamping, welding, painting and assembly shops, alongside a component production area. Production will start at the facility in 2019, as announced by the company.
According to the company statement: “Commissioning works will be carried out at the enterprise in autumn and December 2018. The operations will commence in the beginning of 2019. 80,000 automobiles will be manufactured at the plant at 30% localisation rate in the first stage. The maximum capacity of the plant is planned to be fulfilled in the second stage, with 150,000 vehicles per year at 50% localisation rate”
As reported previously, the models to be manufactured are Haval H2, H6 coupe, H8 and H9.
The construction of the plant was planned for 2018, however, the time period has been extended to 2019 during the course of the works. An investment amount of $34 million was planned for the project initially.
The sales of Haval cars have risen by 40% within the first seven months of 2018 to 1400 units. The increase rate jumped to 85% in July, with 259 vehicles.
