KAMAZ has acquired 49% share of the car components manufacturer OAT

KAMAZ has become the owner of 49% shares of the components manufacturer United Automobile Technologies (OAT), according to the documents of the car plant.

“The transaction has been made in order to develop the car component industry” said the official representative of KAMAZ to RNS, commenting on the deal. The company won’t be disclosing any details, he added. The Federal Anti-Monopoly Service has confirmed the shift of 49% share of OAT to KAMAZ from Rostec at the end of 2017.

As stated by the general director of KAMAZ: Sergei Kogogin previously, the company intends to create an industrial park on the base of car components manufacturer OAT. Ulyanovsk Region Fund for the Development of Industry-Based Towns and the car manufacturer have signed a memorandum of understanding on the creation of an industrial park on the production site of Dimitrovgrad Automobile Units Plant, situated in Ulyanovsk region, belonging to OAT, in Sochi in February.

KAMAZ purchases a number of components from OAT, including lighting equipment. OAT, which manufactures more than 4000 types of components, is also a supplier of AVTOVAZ. The enterprise operates in Samara, Vladimir, Penza, Ulyanovsk and Ryazan regions.
