Vehicle production in Russia has increased by 19% in 2017

Vehicle production in Russia has increased by 19% in 2017. According to ASM Holding data, 1.551.293 transport vehicles (passenger cars, commercial vehicles, buses) have been manufactured, which is equivalent to a 19,0% year-on-year rise.

Car production has increased by 19,9% during the aforementioned period, with 1,35 million units. The output of foreign brand cars in Russia went up by 21,0% to 998,2 thousand vehicles.

LCV production has also grown in the same period, by 5,4% to 123,4 thousand units.

Truck production, including light trucks, has risen by 18,6% in 2017, amounting to 160,8 thousand units. The output of foreign brand trucks in Russia went up by 2,1 times and amounted to 28,8 thousand units.

Bus production, including minibuses, has decreased by 2,6% during the aforementioned period, with 42,9 thousand units. The output of foreign brand buses in Russia went up by 9,2% to 10,4 thousand vehicles.

As stated by Rosstat, industrial production has risen 1,0%  year-on-year in Russia within the January-December 2017 period, compared to the same period of 2016. Industrial production has risen by 1,5% year-on-year in Russia in December 2017 and by 8,2% in comparison with November 2017.
