As reported by the Mercedes-Benz Russia, the company has achieved successful sales results in 2017: a total number of 44,246 vehicles have been sold, 36,808 cars (1433 V-Class automobiles), 6504 LCVs, alongside 934 Smart cars. In addition, Mercedes-Benz has made it into the top-ten in the Russian market, in terms of registered new vehicles. Mercedes-Benz has outperformed its rivals in sales figures, in Mercedes-Maybach, S-Class, SL, E-Class, CLS, CLA SLC and V-Class segments.
Daimler AG continues the policy of strategic investments in the Russian market, considering it an important market for Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes-Benz Russia has signed a special investment contract (SPIC) in February 2017, for the construction of a car factory in Moscow region and the building works began in June 2017. According to the plans, the production of E-Class vehicles will start at the plant in 2019, to be followed by GLE, GLC and GLS SUVs.
Mercedes-Benz Russia has also continued with the investments in the development of its dealer network in Russia. As a result, four new Mercedes-Benz sales points have been opened during the year. The company’s current dealer network is formed of 73 sales points, three urban showrooms, 7 service partnerships and 15 AMG Performance Centres.
2018 will be the year of big premieres: X-Class and the new generation Sprinter will be introduced to the Russian market.
