St. Petersburg automotive industry has grown by 24% in 2017

St. Petersburg automotive industry has shown growth since 4 years in 2017. According to Auto-Dealer-SPb data, Hyundai, Nissan and Toyota factories, established in St. Petersburg, have manufactured 346.800 units in 2017, indicating a 24% increase in comparison to 2016.

Hyundai plant remains the leader of the automotive manufacturing in St. Petersburg. Company’s share in the total vehicle production in 2017 was 67%. The plant increased the vehicle output by 13%.

The share of the St. Petersburg automotive industry in Russia amounted to 25% in 2017.

9 models have been manufactured in St. Petersburg in 2017 – Nissan Qashqai, Nissan X-Trail, Nissan Murano, Toyota Camry, Toyota RAV4, Hyundai Solaris, Hyundai Creta, Kia Rio and Kia Rio X-Line.

7 models manufactured in the city are amongst the top-25 most popular cars in Russia, according to 2017 figures: KIA Rio (market number-one in 2017), Hyundai Solaris, Hyundai Creta (most popular SUV in 2017), Toyota RAV4, Toyota Camry, Nissan Qashqai and Nissan X-Trail.
