Isuzu Rus, established in Ulyanovsk, plans to start the production of a new 3 tonnes, all-wheel drive vehicle: NMS-85 in the first quarter of 2018. The relevant statement has been made by the Production Manager of Isuzu Rus: Pavel Golovin. Golovin has added that the company is also getting ready to start a pilot project – a fully gas engine CNG on methane, which will be commercially launched during the third quarter of next year.
The production volume of the company has doubled year-on-year by the end of the first 10 months of 2017, as reported by Ulyanovsk region press office. “1500 vehicles were assembled by the end of the first 10 months of last year, in comparison with almost 3500 chassis this year. The production plan for this year is slightly over 4500 vehicles, surpassing the initial planned figure of 3800 units” – said Pavel Golovin.
Corporate clients are the main customers of Isuzu vehicles. An 18-tonnes vehicle has been developed specifically for a customer at the Ulyanovsk production site this year, with a pneumatic rear suspension locally manufactured in Russia.
As one may remember, the production of C and E-series Isuzu trucks has been launched in Ulyanovsk in May 2017, with gross weights of 30 tonnes and over. The assembly line of the plant has been in operation since 2012. The company currently manufactures a full range of trucks from 3.5 to 33 tonnes.
