The construction of a Mazda engine plant has started in Vladivostok. Sollers is also a participant in the project. SkyActiv-G family engines will be assembled in the new facility.
Mazda Sollers Manufacturing Rus and the Russian ministry of Industry and Commerce have signed a special investment contract, proposing engine production at the Vladivostok plant in September 2016. Mazda Sollers Manufacturing Rus will invest 2 billion rubles in the creation of thr new Mazda engine plant facility with an annual production capacity of 50,000 units, within the frame of the agreement. The serial production of Mazda SkyActiv-G engines is expected to start in 2018. In particular, the project provides for the localisation of a number of technological operations for the processing of basic components of the engines.
