Car production up by 68% in January in Russia

Autostat – According to Rosstat, 78,800 automobiles have rolled off Russian production lines in January, which indicates a 68.8% year-on-year rise.

It should be noted that, Ford Sollers has shifted to five-days-a-week working regime from four days last month, in order to fulfil the production boost programme. In addition, Ulyanovsk Car Factory remained idle almost until the end of January, due to repair and maintenance works.

Truck production amounted to 4400 units last month, following a 24.7% year-on-year shrinkage. KAMAZ and GAZ, the largest manufacturers of commercial vehicles in Russia, have halted their production lines for the duration of the two weeks corporate holidays, on the other hand.

Finally, bus production has grown by 2.5 times in Russia in January, reaching 702 units.
