AEB. – Sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia decreased by 12,5% compared to June 2015 or by 17 562 sold units, and amounted to 122 633 cars, according to the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee. This year in January—June 672 140 cars were sold.
Joerg Schreiber, Chairman of the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee commented:
“June sales did little to improve the cumulative result of the market in the first half of the year. Total market volume continued to erode at double-digit pace, faster than anticipated at the beginning of the year. With this in mind, the AEB is updating its 2016 full-year market forecast to 1.44 million units, representing a 10.3% volume reduction compared to 2015. This forecast implies a slowdown of the negative trend in the second half of 2016, to a level of 6-7% or half of what we have seen so far this year”.
